Where is This Place" an exhibition by Erika Alonso, curated by Moriah Alise
G Spot Contemporary Gallery is pleased to present “Where is This Place”, a collection of works by Erika Alonso (curated by Moriah Alise) created in direct response to the limitations of places we could go throughout the pandemic era, and the desire to escape into her own dreamworld-like consciousness through her alluring paintings. The exhibition takes its title from the first piece imagined in this collection “Where is This Place”.

Lamonté French, An art market analysis.
“It’s pivotal that we talk about French having a 100% sell through rate (during Fuego) because this isn’t something that happens often without gallery backing, or with it. It’s even more interesting that his work is capable of making such enormous movement in less than 24 hours. It’s without a doubt we need to pay close attention to French and his career because once he breaks out of Houston into a more robust art environment, we will absolutely “count him in”.

Fuego, an exhibition of new works by Lamonté French.
This collection of works in it’s bold posture is emotionally symbolic, aesthetically transformative, and relatively triggering. Within the use of its familiar & sporadically child like imagery, French allows the viewer an instant connection with gut wrenching realizations. The dealings of politics along with the transgressions of being a human and the push and pull of addiction, depression, and self realization are presented through beautiful composition, striking color, and a multitude of materials.
